Resistance to Abrasion
Our leather tests exceptionally well for abrasion, a key indicator of how well it holds up to repeated surface wear, which every wallet inevitably experiences.
Abrasion Resistance Test – EN ISO 5402. This test simulates real-life wear by repeatedly flexing and rubbing the leather surface against itself or another material under controlled pressure.
Vedentro leather passed 30,000 cycles with no visible damage. A “cycle” in this context means one full movement of rubbing/flexing.
What does it mean for you?
Whether your wallet is in your jeans pocket, backpack, or tossed onto counters, this leather is resistant to scuffing, scratching, and surface erosion.
Resistance to Color Fading
Our leather tests exceptionally well for resistance to color fading for rubbing and light exposure.
Resistance (Dry & Wet) – EN ISO 11640
This test simulates how the leather reacts when rubbed, like when it slides in and out of a pocket or is handled with dry or sweaty hands. Dry rubbing checks if the color rubs off under regular use. Wet rubbing simulates damp or humid conditions, like sweaty palms or spills.
Vedentro leather test 5 of 5 for dry rubbing, and 4+ for wet and saline rubbing.
What does it mean for you?
High ratings (greater than 3 on a Scale of 1–5) mean the color won’t easily fade, smear, or transfer onto clothing, even after repeated use. Even on hot days, sweat won’t damage or discolor your leather wallet.
Light Resistance – EN ISO 105-B02
This test exposes the leather to intense artificial light to simulate sun exposure. A high rating (≥ 3–5 on a Blue Scale) means the leather won’t discolor quickly when exposed to daylight.
